Industry recognises Welspun Energys outstanding contribution in the Renewable Energy sector

New Delhi, Mr. Vineet Mittal, Co-Founder and MD, Welspun Energy Ltd (WEL), has been recognized with the ‘GLOBAL EXCELLENCE AWARD in RENEWABLE ENERGY 2013’ at the 4th World Renewable Energy Technology Congress (WRETC). The Energy and Environment Foundation, with the support of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and UNESCO awarded Mr. Mittal for his outstanding contribution and demonstrating excellence in the Renewable Energy sector.

The award ceremony was held at the Convention Centre — NDCC in the national capital on 25th September, 2013 and attended by dignitaries including Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India; Shri Anil Razdan, Former Secretary to Govt. of India, Chairman,
Energy And Environment Foundation; Dr Osman Benchikh, Head, Renewable Energy Programme, UNESCO, France and Professor Gustav R Grob, President, International Clean Energy Consortium ICEC, Geneva.  World Renewable Energy Technology Congress is a key annual event in India’s renewable energy calendar. Through the award it aims to recognize the creativity and applied best practices in renewable energy industry.

The 5.5 MW solar project in Andhra Pradesh generated a high CUF% of 22.3%. Presently over 300 MW of power projects are being developed through partnerships with leading solar module and equipment manufacturers in order to enable efficiency at the highest level. The organization aims to develop a total of 550 MW solar capacities in the state of Karnataka alone and an additional 100 MW in Andhra Pradesh.
