The ‘Subodh Bible’ by Fr. D’Britto, is more than just a translation. He has simplified the Old Testament into and divided it into 11 chapters.
The language used in older version was too tough for a lay man to understand hence there was dire need of having a simple version that is readable for a common man. More than 2,000 copies of the book were sold in less than three weeks. Fr Francis D'Britto, who is a rational social activist to the core is also a driving force behind NGO Harit Vasai which helps in protecting rights of local land holders and protecting them from the builder mafia.
