The Energy Business is the new magazine from UBM India focused on the energy sector. The issue is launching on August 13, 2009 and will be mailed to industry leaders and experts.

The Energy Business, as the name suggests, will focus on the energy sector- bringing you news, views, data and analysis every month from our team of reporters, analysts and industry experts.

The Energy Business offers a window into the rapidly growing world of Indian energy, tracking a wide variety of developments in the traditional power and oil and gas sectors as well as emerging sectors such as renewable energy and climate change. The monthly magazine offers readers an in-depth look into the way the business is evolving and the factors that are shaping the growth of the sector.

In the first issue we looked at some of the key concern areas-as the country gears up for a return to eight per cent growth, one of the main hurdles is non-availability of adequate and good quality power. Power minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde spokes to us on how he plans to achieve targeted capacity addition while coal minister Sri Prakash Jaiswal identifies his priorities in the coal sector. In other stories Srinivas Krishnaswamy, one of the authors of the NGO treaty on climate change writes about what the treaty offers to both developed and emerging economies while an accompanying piece decodes the subtleties of the government‘s stand on climate at the recent G8 Summit.
