The English Hog Roast Company Delivers a Unique Party Atmosphere
Summers Here (Well at least it should be) and what better way to create the perfect party atmosphere than picking to have a Hog Roast.
Although the humble hog roast has been around since man drew paintings on walls it has recently become much more popular because it creates such a great party atmosphere.
Mike Berry, owner of The English Hog Roast Company states “People want something different when they are organising an event or wedding these days. They want to create a real atmosphere that is unique and special. The days of the sandwich and sausage roll are numbered to my mind. We only use the finest, locally produced foods for our client’s events.”
“People want something different these days. Their standards are much higher than they were 5 -10 years ago plus they want the “WOW” factor for their guests. The beauty about a hog roast is that it’s a great social event. People can see the hog being roasted and from the feedback we are getting people actually prefer simpler foods produced with the highest quality ingredients. Our company is based on sourcing the highest quality locally produced free range meats and other food stuffs such as breads and vegetables from our network of farmers. Guests can be 100% assured we only use the finest produce.”
“We are finding that a lot of companies now are looking to hire a different kind of catering for their corporate events too. We have been really lucky to have worked with some huge brands recently including Tesco, Swallow Hotels, The National Trust, and The University of Cambridge.”
“Another growing market for us in the wedding catering market — enquiries from this sector are definitely showing year on year growth.”
Bookings in the early couple of years of setting up the company were much slower and Mike puts this down to the fact that hog roasts were not really understood by those wanting an outside caterer. “When we first set things up things were much tougher. People were used to the more traditional catering set up. But those who gave us a try have never been disappointed. In fact one of our biggest sources of business is referrals and repeat bookings which in my mind shows people love them. Not only are they something completely different but they also offer amazing value for money. The do-it-yourself option including meat costs less than £4 per head — you can’t even get desert for that from most other caterers.”
