French Arcopal Volcan Lidded Opaline Glass Casserole / Tureen / Serving Dish

A superb vintage piece made in France by Arcopal, part of their distinctive but increasingly uncommon Volcan range, this large circular lidded dish – suitable for casseroles, as a serving dish or tureen – is heavy and toughened, reminiscent of Pyrex glassware. In a striking marbled orange, mustard and brown with a textured finish this dish is not only a very useful kitchen or dining item but it also would make a fabulous decorative piece in its own right. Measurements: Rim diameter 21cm (8¼  in.) Base diameter 12cm (4¾  in.) Height 9cm (3½ in.) without lid, 14cm (5½ in.) with lid. The dish and lid are both in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
